Ryan Holtz

Ryan Holtz - Managing Partner, CPA, CGMA

At first glance you probably wouldn’t pin Ryan Holtz as a One Direction fan, but according to his daughters Payton and Cassidy, he’s great at singing along. (Talk about a team player!)  While he’s serious about strategic planning and financial activities, Ryan’s approach to cultivating a professional culture is far from traditional – he believes in creating an environment of collaboration and one that empowers the staff to “go for it.”

Ryan originally joined Baker Holtz in 1996 and worked with us until 2002 when he moved to Denver, Colorado for a few years to serve as Accounting Manager at Bradley, Allen & Associates.  He rejoined us in 2004 and became Managing Partner in 2008.  Ryan provides closely-held businesses and their owners with advisory services in connection with financial benchmarking, operations analysis, succession planning, cash management and other financial activities.

Ryan earned his BA in Accounting from Adrian College in 1994.  He is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Ryan and his wife Trudy are involved with several children’s charities in Grand Rapids.  They’re active supporters of Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and the Kid’s Food Basket.  “We consider ourselves blessed that we haven’t had to use these resources and want to support the families that do.”

When he isn’t leading a 1D sing-along, Ryan enjoys playing golf, basketball and spending time with family and friends.
